Hey guys and gals. If you follow me at all on social media then you already know that I lost my position with KCTR, Cat Country 102.9 on May 21st of this year. After coming back from California and was on the station again for only 4 months before a budget cut eliminated my position.
In my 20+ years of broadcasting, this is the first time I have ever been let go from any station or position. It hurt deep but I do not harbor any ill feelings towards this company or this station because I completely understand that business is business.
So where do I go from here? That is a great question.
I am actively searching for a station that will bring the Hot Rod Thompson show on board. I have pushed my materials to a number of stations across the country and am in talks with some that seem like we would make a good fit for each other. At this point, I am not sure where I will land but I assure you that when a deal is complete, I will be letting the world know where it is and how to tune in.
If you live in the Billings, Montana area, I encourage you to continue to support Cat Country. This is a legendary station that provides a great service to it’s listeners. I truly enjoyed being a part of that group and only wish for their continued success. There are a lot of great people in that building and they will take good care of the airwaves here.
I will keep you updated and pray that life is finding you well. Until next time, tell the ones you love that you love them, hug the ones that you can and pray for the ones you can’t.
